HTML is the official language of Web pages. HTML is language that is understood by Web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. Just in writing a letter to someone in China it must be written in a language the the person receiving it will understand. HTML is used to format text, add images and provide linking (hyperlinking) to other pages and Web sites. Without HTML the Web would be nothing more than a bunch of dull text documents with no interconnectivity, no formatting, no style, no images and really no fun.

This course will take you from basic skills to advanced skills.

Before you begin learning HTML you need to do 2 tasks.

Task # 1: Download the student data files for the textbook from www.scsite.com the ISBN # is 1-4188-5937-0 and save them in a folder named html student data files

Task # 2: Take the HTML Pre-test by clicking on pre-test on the left of your screen.
